Training program is available at all CCI locations: Lancaster (Main Campus), Oxnard (Branch Campus), Moreno Valley (Branch Campus)

Vocational nurses (VNs) provide care for the sick, injured, convalescent, and the disabled under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. They also provide basic bedside care and take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. VNs treat bedsores, prepare and give injections and enemas, apply dressings, give alcohol rubs and massages, apply ice packs and hot water bottles and monitor catheters. They observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments. They collect samples for testing, perform hygiene, keep patients comfortable and care for their emotional needs, among a variety of other nursing duties.

Career Care Institute’s accredited Vocational Nursing (VN) program will prepare you for the ever-changing field of healthcare. The course will take place in a lecture style classroom where you will learn a variety of nursing fundamentals. You will also visit an array of nursing facilities for hands on clinical training. We believe there are valuable lessons by combining textbook knowledge with the application of that knowledge in a health care setting while providing safe patient-centered care.

Our nursing department and Administration emphasize ethical behavior and the safe delivery of patient care. Our program produces well-rounded, competent graduates ready to take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Vocational/Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN®). Licensure is a requirement for employment as a licensed vocational nurse.

Wherever you choose to work, becoming a licensed vocational nurse (VN) gives you the opportunity to help people and continually expand your horizons in the healthcare community.

Great opportunities are expected. Rapid employment growth is projected in most healthcare industries, with the best job opportunities occurring in nursing care facilities and in home healthcare services.

My time at Career Care Institute was an amazing time. The teachers and employees were a great help to me. They helped me out a lot, even with some struggles I went through at the end. I want to thank my instructors for all their wisdom and Sherry and Katlin in job placement for never giving up on me and helping me get the job I have today. I am grateful and thankful for everyone’s help.
